“If there’s a book you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
~ Toni Morrison

Share, revise, and create community around works-in-progress! Are you working on a piece of writing and ready to share with others who are moving through the creative process? Do you need some assistance and support in fleshing out your ideas, finding your voice, or polishing your personal essay? If you do not already have a writing practice, are you eager to cultivate one? In this supportive environment, young adults and adults are invited to bring in pieces they are currently working on and receive feedback from the facilitator and the group in a writing workshop format.

These workshops offer a space to build and nurture community. We discuss elements of craft, share insights, digressions, and road blocks and provide one another with positive and constructive feedback. If there is sufficient interest, I hope to begin genre-based groups for those who want to focus on a particular style or type of writing, e.g. poetry, essays, or short stories.

“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”
